Initial Visit

Understanding what to expect during your initial visit is an important step in seeking treatment.  This page outlines what happens during your first appointment, helping to alleviate any concerns and ensuring a smooth start to your therapeutic journey.

What to Expect During Your Initial Visit

Your initial visit is designed to help you feel comfortable and to gather essential information about your mental health needs. During this appointment, you will meet with me, and I will take the time to learn about you and your situation. This first session typically lasts around 60 minutes. We will discuss your reasons for seeking treatment, any previous mental health experiences, and what you hope to achieve.

Assessing Your Individual and Family Needs

For individuals, I will explore your personal history, challenges, and strengths. If you are bringing your child for assessment, I will discuss their specific challenges and family dynamics to ensure a holistic approach.  This thorough assessment allows me to tailor a therapeutic approach to meet your specific needs effectively, whether you are an adult treatment, a parent addressing a child's behavioral concerns, or a family in need of guidance.
